Study and Come Prepared for Test 1

• Test 1 will be scheduled on in the Student Computer Center. http://www.occc.edu/IT/SCC.html.
• A valid OCCC student ID is required.

  • Please note that they close early on certain days and are not open on weekends. Plan ahead.
• Students must sign into the Student Computer Center at least two hours before closing. The Computer Center does not stay open past closing time for students to complete tests.
• See the Assignments and Due Dates for testing dates.
• The test will be done in the LMS. It is password protected.
• Referencing textbooks, using electronic devices such as watches, cell phones, smart phones, iPod/iTouch, electronic dictionaries, translators, calculators, tablets, etc., accessing other websites, visiting with others, or any other activities that could be consistent with cheating are not permitted during the test.
• The test will have two parts: theory and coding.
  • The theory will be multiple-choice/true-false which will primarily be taken from the optional study questions for each chapter.
  • The coding part can be a combination of short answer and writing code snippets.
• Upon completing the Theory portion, be sure to submit the test. Then request the SCC assistant type the password so the Coding test can be released. Again, be sure to submit the Coding Test when you have answered all of the questions.
• The Theory Test has a 1 hour time limit and the Coding test has a 1 1/2 hour time limit. Tests might not take that long, but this will help make sure there is ample time.
• The tests MUST be taken one after the other with no more than 10 minutes in between. Leaving after the Theory test and returning at a later time for the Coding test is not permitted. The LMS tracks the time. Failure to follow this requirement may result in point loss or the second test not being accepted for grading.
• A small note card with your name on it will be allowed (see Test Review) during the test but no textbooks, online resources, or other aids. The note card must be submitted with the test and it will not be returned.
• Grading will be done after the final deadline. Students will receive an email once the grading has been completed.
• Late testing and retesting is not allowed.
